Sadie is thriving in her new life and taking every moment to enjoy her new freedom. After a failed marriage that changed everything she knew to be true, she gets the courage to start over on her own. Sadie’s world quickly changes from her new normal when one night she gets pulled over by the most gorgeous police officer she’s ever met.
Feeling optimistic about opening up again, she hopes that begins with Officer Stevens. He’s protective, sweet and seemingly trustworthy. She wonders if her past will ever allow her to get close to someone again. Her friends keep telling her how much she finally deserves to be happy. Will their chance meeting give her an opportunity to find out how fulfilling true love really should be? She wants to put her past to rest and move on, but will she finally allow herself to trust him when she feels like her life might be in danger?
“Thank you,” I whispered. “It means everything to me that you’re staying.” “There’s no place that I’d rather be. Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me what you did. That took a lot of courage.” I tilted my head to the side so I could barely see him. “Not really, courage would’ve been leaving him the first time he hit me. As stupid as it sounds, I thought I could change him if I just loved him enough.” He sat up quickly and looked down at me, causing me to roll onto my back. “Don’t say that. Any woman with enough guts to leave a man like that has a lot of courage as far as I’m concerned.” I smiled slightly and he kissed the top of my bare shoulder. “Thank you Parker…for everything. I know I told you I have a lot of issues to work through and now that you’ve seen some of them, you still haven’t run towards the door. That means more to me than you’ll ever know.”
How this was a nice romance story about one man's goal to show his battered woman that there is a such thing as LOVE and support.
Parker was well raised and because of his job and upbringing he understood and was able to show Sadie that she was strong, beautiful and LOVED. I was touched by his actions and cheered when he kept his word.
There was great banter that kept the story flowing well and interesting. I will suggest it to many as a nice relaxing read. Thank you.
