1 Year Blogiversary Guest Post of Christina Tetreault

First I would congratulate Mayas on her blog’s one anniversary and thank her for allowing me to celebrate with her.

An anniversary by definition is the yearly recurrence of the date of a past event. Some anniversaries are happy ones filled with joy and pleasant memories such as a wedding anniversary.  Others are sad such as those that mark the passing of a loved one.

For this post Mayas simply asked authors to share with readers a significant one year anniversary.  Rather than bore with you with the details of my first wedding anniversary, I wanted to share with you something unique. Of course since I am a romance writer, I wanted my choice to be something romantic.   After much thought and consideration, I settled on the following one year annivesary. And while the actual one year anniversary itself was special, the months leading up to it were just a special to me.  Now in order to share this particular anniversary with you, I need to take you back to the summer of 1998.

That summer I had just ended a rocky relationship of 2 years and lets just say I wasn’t all that fond of the male species at the time, so when I walked into my Spanish 201 class that June the last thing I was looking for was a boyfriend. Yet before the summer was over I did something I had never done before, I asked my husband out taking him by complete surprise. Much later I would find out that he had told his mother about me and that he planned to ask me out himself before the summer was over and the fall semester started.

Anyway we had our first date on July 23. Every month after that on the 23th he gave me a red rose, one for each month we’d been together. By the time the following July rolled around and it was time to celebrate our one year anniversary together, I received a full dozen red roses. While perhaps not as life changing as a wedding anniversary or the anniversary of your first born child, this particular anniversary, and all the tiny ones leading up to it hold a special place in my heart. And as I sit here and tell you about it, it occurs to me that I should add something similar into one of my books. I am not going to tell you which one though.  You will just have to read book 5 in The Sherbrookes of Newport series and book 2 in my newest series Love On The North Shore to find out which of my heroes has the heart of a true romantic.

I started writing at the age of 10 on my grandmother's manual type writer and never stopped. When I am not chasing my 3 young children or two dogs around I am working on my writing or reading a romance novel. Currently, I am working on book 5 in the Sherbrookes of Newport series, as well as book 2 in my new series Love On The North Shore.

When Hollywood sweetheart, Mia Troy, checks into the Victorian Rose, the only things on her mind are rest and relaxation before she begins work on her new movie in Boston. That is until she meets Sean O’Brien, the co-owner of the bed and breakfast. From the moment she checks in, Mia is drawn to Sean, a reserved man who sees past her celebrity status.

Eighteen years ago Sean became the man of the house when his father walked out on the family. Without a second thought, he put his own hopes and dreams on the back burner and took care of his mom and younger sister. Now the co-owner of a successful bed and breakfast, Sean has accepted his position in life—until the day Mia Troy checks in.

Despite his better judgment, Sean can’t ignore his physical attraction to Mia. Soon he gives into his desire, telling himself all she wants is a quick fling to pass the time. As they spend time together, his feelings grow. But can love between a small town guy and an A-list celebrity ever last?
