Happy 1 Year Blogiversary to ME, Reading by the Book!!!

One year seems like a short time but in reality it is 365 days of hard work and dedication, achieving goals that are unreachable in your own mind. That is where I sat this time last year, doubting my ability to achieve a goal that was in my grasp. So what did I do, channel my inner leadership and high self-esteem and started a blog.

In one day I made a decision that will forever be a part of my soul and with the support of my life’s motivation (My 3 Kings) it is bigger than any dream I could have imagined or cooked up. Along the way I have had my doubts and wanted to give up but when I opened the pages to literary work of many of my favorite authors I knew this is what I was meant to do. For two weeks I only had 35 followers on my Facebook page and most of those were from my immediate small circle, now I sit at 3,606 followers. That number still wasn’t real to me until this past weekend when I was in Cleveland and people knew “ME” as a person and as a blogger. It was the best experience of my life, the recognition stirred to life something that was buried deep within “HOPE”.

I would like to personally thank those who have been a constant support from day one to 365 and the ones who have boarded along the way and stayed for the ride. My three wonderful boys who not only allow me to read but help spread the word about my blog and love for books. It is hard being a single parent but your support and maturity at a tender age is a dream come true, thank you for supporting my passion. My sister Juevator for attending my first conference with me a month after I started the blog. Tanisha, my BFF, who have listened to business plan after business plan over drinks, laughter and food. We have declared our journey in entrepreneurship as operation “woman of power.” She also read and write reviews for paranormal/sci-fi books that comes through my email. To my mentors/tech support/family Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey, you have been such a HUGE influence in many decisions that I have made and I can’t wait to meet the two of you next year in Toronto. Emily Hemmer for being the 1st person to message me about a book review. Justine Elvira, for trusting me with her first novel for review, we GREW together girl and have many years ahead of us. Sebastian will always be my #1. Alannah Lynne for being the first to send me a promoting referral (Emily Hemmer). We took over West Chester together and I can’t wait for Myrtle Beach. J.M. Madden, what do I say, you just WOWED me from day #1 when you told me I couldn’t be shy and I assured you I was far from that. Thank you for giving me a series of “imperfect” heroes. You have set the bar with them men that cannot be reached. Reeni Austin, thank you for being the first person to believe in my tour promoting ability. RBTB Promotions is gaining an audience because of that one opportunity. DeAnna Felthauser for sharing, commenting, and retweeting post that promote the “promotions” part of the business. You are always there for me and supporting EVERYTHING I do. Thank you lady. Last but certainly not least Melissa Collins for having the drive in her that I see in myself. Your books have helped me through this journey for inspiration in work and personal life. I truly love and adore each and every one of you and I look forward to another 365 days.

Are you ready to PARTY? Well I am and instead of receiving gifts I am in the giving mood. Today marks the “birth” of my baby, Reading by the Book, yes she is turning 1 years old. I have personally asked authors to help in the celebration by guest posting from May 2nd - May 16th. These people have really shaped and formed me into the reader and author promoter that I am today. I am deeply honored that they agreed to bless us with their MOST memorable 1 yr. Anniversaries. There are daily prizes and author takeovers going on at  Reading by the Book Facebook Page. I also have a grand prize of a Kindle Fire HD that will house books from the authors but you HAVE to participate every day to be eligible for this prize either on the blog page itself or the Facebook post. All prizes will be mailed out on May 17th and is distinguished if it is international or not.
