Picking The Perfect Title
Some authors come up with a title before they even write the first word. For me, I always find it difficult to come up with just the right title. In fact two of my books, The Teacher’s Billionaire and The Billionaire Playboy had different titles when I started them.
Since I know how hard it is for me to settle on a title, I started thinking about the name for book 6 in my series The Sherbrookes of Newport while I wrote the first chapter. I knew that it somehow had to contain the word billionaire is keep it in line with the other books. Somehow I needed to come up with a title that would tell the reader something about the book, and not give away Gray’s secret before the first page was read. Even know these things before hand, the perfect title still eluded me.
For weeks not a single title came to me that both hinted at the story line and at the same time grabbed a reader’s attention. Finally, after I finished writing more than half the book it came to me. Why not title the book More Than A Billionaire because that is exactly what Grayson Sherbrooke is. He is a man from a wealthy, powerful family who appears to have it all. However, he has a secret that sets him apart from the other men in his family. A secret that he has kept from everyone and one that might take away the woman he loves.
Readers may disagree, but I think in the end More Than A Billionaire is the perfect title for this book. After you read it, I would love to know if you agree.
